DG BOSS: Laboratory Technician (FN)
Title: DG BOSS: Laboratory Technician (FN) + Manage the complete fuel storage and distribution system, including bulk storage, supplementary storage, day tanks, and backup fuel storage tanks. + Operate and maintain pumps, and valves, and monitor flow and tank levels. + Inspect fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct issues such as leakage, corrosion, and faulty fittings. + Ensures all electrical wiring, switches, and controls and in safe operating condition and comply with safety standards. + Lead and supervise a team of technicians and operators to ensure efficient and safe fuel distribution operations. + Supervises operational and maintenance requirements for PACAF south ramp storage and distribution facilities, PACAF mobile/portable equipment, and other fuel-related fixed facilities. + Initiate monthly inspection summary, and monthly work schedule to meet both UFC 03-460-03 & T.O 37-1-1. + Schedule bio-slurper recovery operations for 49 fuel hydrant pits for flight-line operations. + Adherence to BOS contract, annex standard operating procedures, fuels operating instructions, PACAF-related references, company guidelines, and safety regulations, & environmental protection guidance. + Provide personnel with training, paperwork flow sequence, and tablet updates for PM completions. + Review of scope of proposed maintenance repair projects for technical input to assist third-party contractors for RMMR repairs - directed by the USG, for a steady workflow on operations; to include - preparing service work orders, and cost estimates to subcontracts to capture work assistance. + Performs maintenance on POL system facilities and distribution systems to include, but not be limited to the following tasks: a) Clean and lubricate equipment. b) Pack valves. c) Replace strainers. d) Change filter and monitor elements. e) Install gaskets. f) Make adjustments and minor repairs to pumps, air compressors, diesel and gasoline engines, and other equipment. g) Hydrotest hoses/piping. h) Calibrate gauges, pumps, and meters. i) Perform annual thickness measurements of tank and pipeline systems. + Performs other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives. Basic Qualifications + Requires general chemistry lab skills including the use of volumetric glassware and other analytical tools. + Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude as well as knowledge of the metric system helpful. + Must have good oral and written communication skills which enable effective liaison with clients, other departments within the organization, subcontractors, and clients; reports directly to the Asst. and POL Superintendent. + Particular attention to detail, and good project management skills. + Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health. + Must be contract-oriented and computer literate in Microsoft Office software. Preferred Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING + A registered Chemist or Chemical Engineer is highly desired. EDUCATION: + Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited university or college. EXPERIENCE: + Must have at least two (2) years of experience working in a fuel laboratory or analytical laboratory.
