Internal Job Title: DevOps Specialist

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Location: 18 Auriga Drive, Ottawa ON

Work Model: Hybrid

 

Position Summary

As a DevOps Specialist in our Lottery Systems group, you will work collaboratively with other teams in the design, implementation and maintenance of the underlying systems and infrastructure for our on-prem virtualized environments and cloud environments that support our range of gaming solutions.

 

Responsibilities 

Automation & DevOps

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of software and OCI containersImplement infrastructure as code (IaC) principles for provisioning and configuration managementDevelop and maintain scripts and tools for systems management

Infrastructure Management

Manage and optimize cloud infrastructureManage and optimize clusters of physical servers, storage, and network infrastructureEvaluate new hardware and software for deployment

Collaboration & Process Improvement

Collaborate with development teams to improve code quality and deployment processesDevelop and maintain documentation for processes, tools, and systemsVarious other duties and responsibilities

Monitoring & Security

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysisImplement and maintain security measures through risk assessment and vulnerability management

 

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/computer science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experienceKnowledge of the following:DevOps and CI/CD practicesCloud computingContainerization and orchestrationInfrastructure as code (IaC)Networking and network technologiesServer hardwareTroubleshooting methodologies

Experience

5+ years of experience in an IT position2+ years of DevOps experience

Technologies

Languages:  Bash, Python, Puppet, TerraformContainerization: Docker/Podman and Kubernetes CI/CD Tools: Git, GitLabMonitoring Tools: Prometheus, Grafana 

Soft Skills and Competencies

Mandatory Requirements
