The story of your journey in this role

You will be a member of the DevOps squad which maintains LORADS3, the current ATM system used operationally by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. As such, you will be supporting the program by ensuring the continuous integration pipelines for the ATMS is efficient and the agile teams are autonomous with using the continuous integration tools in the Thales Cloud. Additionally, you will need to participate in issue investigation as part of the quality engineering process.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                    

As a DevOps Engineer, you are accountable for:

Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration pipelines using Jenkins, GitlabDevelop and manage Jenkins, Gitlab jobs for build, test, and deployment processes across multiple projectsMonitor and troubleshoot CI pipeline failures, providing corrective action and root cause analysisCollaborate with developers to integrate code quality checks, automated tests, and security scans into the pipelineUpgrade, maintain, and scale Jenkins infrastructure, including plugin management and script automation (Groovy, Shell, or Python)Write and maintain technical documentation for CI/CD processes and pipeline configurationsImplement and manage role-based access controls, credential management, and security policies in JenkinsAnalyze pipeline metrics and logs to optimize speed, reliability, and resource usageCollaborate with the DevOps Team Lead/Manager to design and implement DevOps engineering practices and rollout to the Agile teamsDefining and tailoring the software engineering environment and the process, practices and tools applicable to the projectEnsuring that the CI solution is developed according to design, schedule, cost and quality expectationsIdentifying risks and proposing effective solutions; executing mitigation actions and reporting on outcomes and residual risks

Technical skills

Must-haveProven experience building and managing Jenkins pipelines in production environmentsStrong understanding of source control systems including Git and BitbucketExperience with Azure Cloud platformProficiency in scripting and automation skills using Shell and PythonPractical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesProven experience of working in Scrum modeExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsStrong understanding and practical application of DevOps principles and CI/CD best practices

Nice-to-haveParticipated in the software maintenance of the deployed systems and demonstrated proficiency in solving operational IS/IT issuesHands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices using GitlabExperience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and AnsibleKnowledge of Air Traffic Management domainExperience delivering agile software solutions in a safety-critical environment
