Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented DevOps Automation Engineer to join our Threat Analysis team! This engineer will be part of a diverse team supporting a modeling & simulation (M&S) program.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing build systems for complex software projects that support cross-compilation, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and hardware-specific toolchains. You will help to develop our automation and build pipelines, improve the integration/release process, and work closely with developers and QA teams to ensure efficient and reliable builds across multiple platforms.

What You'll Be Doing:

Design, implement, and maintain robust CMake build scripts for cross-platform software projects

Maintain and improve build scripts, tools, and infrastructure - Refactor and modernize existing build systems to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability

Optimize build performance - Improve the speed and efficiency of the build process by optimizing CMake configurations and build strategies

Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automate build processes

Troubleshoot and resolve build-related issues across various environments

Ensure compatibility across various operating systems (Linux, Windows)

Document build processes and provide training/support to other engineers as needed

Required Clearance:

Candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance

Active Secret Clearance preferred

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years' of relevant experience

Experience developing complex build systems that use C++ libraries and Linux

Strong experience using CMake in large-scale C++ or multi-language projects

Experience in a release engineering and/or DevOps or build engineer role

Expertise with Git, branching strategies, merging, Pull Requests etc.

Familiarity with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar

Proficient with scripting; particularly Shell and Python

Experience in configuration management for deploying, configuring, and managing servers and systems

Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and code review

Excellent problem solving and debugging skills, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Familiarity with conan, vcpkg, or other C++ package managers

Knowledge of C++ or related programming languages

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team

Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $176,600.00
