We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and innovative Scientist. This is a new and exciting opportunity based at our client’s facility, a world class company that develops and produces consumer products based in Liverpool. We have an opportunity for a scientist supporting product development in the Personal care and Home care products service area weighted towards deodorant products.
The purpose of this job is to support the development of new product formulations through the use of high throughput automated systems and assist with the evaluation of the performance across different platforms utilizing in line and off line detectors.
In addition, the candidate will also have strong logistic and technical skills as well as report writing, problem solving skills. It is expected the ideal candidate will work in a flexible manner exhibiting high energy, self-motivation and resourcefulness. Additionally, will be able to think logically and have the ability to effectively collaborate with and communicate scientific ideas readily
Organisation, Scheduling and Planning of Routine requests from multiple client facilities to be progressed in the client facility, utilizing various automated platforms.Manage Logistics, COSHH, Safety for routine requests from different client areas ensuring sample integrity, project timelines and demands are met.Run and Report any routine requests on automated equipment (including Statistics).Conduct associated in-line / off-line product quality assessment of personal care products utilising SAXS and Force plate techniques.Additional support of manual activities to assess product quality.Maintain clear, concise and effective communication with the Key client Contacts and designees throughout the period of service.Co-ordinate activities with the wider Eurofins group collaborating as required.Maintain operational effectiveness of automated equipment and monitor / report intervention detail and frequency.Ensure all pre-calibration of equipment is conducted.Escalate issues in a timely manner to ensure prompt resolution so as to maintain project schedule adherence.Report and document any issues or non-conformances to the relevant client contact.Assist in the preparation and review and revision of area documentation e.g. SOP's, Reports, Protocols.Proficient in the training of other personnel where necessary and establishing foundational skills in mentorship.Ensure training compliance within assigned work area.QualificationsDegree or above in a relevant scientific discipline (Chemistry, Physical science, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or related Physical or Biological science area). Some industrial background would be ideal.Experience of formulation evaluation in a development laboratory ideally within Personal Care and Home Care.Exposure to SAXS would be a distinct advantage.Experience of using automation would be desirable.Structured approach to investigating problems to resolution.Ability to organise, Schedule and Plan work with great efficiency and compliance.A keen interest in automated systems and their functionality would be advantageous.Proven ability to manage Logistics, COSHH, safety and be able to work flexibly.Excellent verbal and written skills, both internally and externally. Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues driving collaboration.Ability to maintain operational effectiveness of automated equipment and monitor / report intervention detail and frequency thereby off setting down time.Previous experience in the preparation and review and revision of area documentation e.g. SOP's, Reports, and Protocols would be desirable.Experience of delivering process improvement would be desirable.Passionate about quality and customer service is essential.Additional InformationAt Eurofins we are growing, innovating and always learning.
