Development Manager - Utilities Infrastructure
**I. Job Summary** Support WM Renewable Energy with front-end development and execution of projects which beneficially utilize biogas produced from municipal solid waste landfills and organics digesters. The projects may involve utilization of biogas to generate power, processing biogas to produce renewable natural gas, and/or capturing carbon dioxide to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for development and management of gas and electric utility-side infrastructure upgrades or interconnections to support the new facilities. **II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. + Manage and complete new service applications and interconnect requests for power and gas utilities to serve new facilities. + Manage the completion of capacity studies, engineering studies, service plans, and design of utility-side power and gas infrastructure upgrades to support new facilities. + Coordinate the proper interface of the utility-side infrastructure with the new facility. + Review and manage the execution of interconnection and service agreements. + Oversee and manage the timely submittal and receipt of necessary permits, authorizations, right-of-way, and easements to facilitate construction of utility-side infrastructure upgrades. + Manage the construction and commissioning utility-side infrastructure upgrades within budget and schedule constraints. + Manage the relationships and collaboration with utility counterparts. + Manage contractors, utilities, and internal specialists to complete deliverables in timely manner and within budget. + Coordinate with project management, design management, and project controls to maintain quality and alignment on scope, budget, and schedule. + Must be detail-oriented and efficient with communication + Must complete special assignments/tasks as requested and required by WMRE senior leadership **III. Qualifications** The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferred (electrical, mechanical, civil, or environmental). Master’s degree preferred. Experience: 10 years relevant experience (in addition to education requirement). Relevant experience may include experience with project development, project management, project engineering, electricity transmission and distribution, power generation, electric utilities, gas pipelines, renewable natural gas, midstream operations, or landfill operations. B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements None required. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Proficiency with computers and relevant software packages. D. Travel Travel expectations approximately 20%. **IV.
