API Management, part of SAP Integration Suite, enables its customers to secure, analyze, and scale APIs in a multi-cloud environment – AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, AliCloud, SAP Data Center & in a Hybrid Deployment [Cloud & On-Premise]. It provides the required visibility & control to consume and monetize APIs with real-time analytics. SAP is evolving its API Platform with significant investments in API-led Integration, AI Gateway, MCP Gateway, Intelligent API Ops – Machine Learning based anomaly detection and remediation, Kubernetes based Provisioning, and in best-in-class experience to explore, discover and consume the AI Agent ready APIs via API Marketplace As a Development Manager or Engineering Manager for the API Management Teams, you will lead and mentor a Development Team, which will work on a specific capability area – runtime, design-time, analytics, AI - of API Management. Having a passion for people leadership as well as curiosity for latest technologies to build and run state-of-the-art market leading API Management with your team would be an ideal combination for this role. The aim of this role is to drive the future success of API Management in Integration Suite by leveraging the product operating model and team up closely with your peers, for example, in Product Management or UX Design. As a Development Manager or Engineering Manager in this context, you have full ownership of development and engineering progress, ensuring accountability, alignment, and successful delivery of products. In addition to your role as a technical advisor for your team, you lead the team from a people manager perspective. This includes the support of your direct reports in achieving their goals and helping them to identify development opportunities. It’s your role to foster a mindset of continuous learning and to create a collaborative, agile, and flexible work environment where innovation flourishes and open communication and individual contributions are valued. In your role you will: + Manage the team by building execution plans and make operational decisions to align with the overall Integration Suite org strategy. + Make day to day decisions with the team and work collaboratively towards the team goal. + Build strategic partnerships with key decision makers in the organization. + Demonstrate servant leadership and drive the culture of innovation anchored in AI while balancing the backlogs of existing large customer base + Actively share information to enable and empower the team to take informed decisions **What you bring:** + University Degree (B.Tech or M.Tech) in Computer Science or related engineering subject, with 12-16 years of relevant industry experience. + 3-4 years of proven experience in successfully leading teams in a managerial role, will be an added advantage + Proven technical leadership as a tech lead, product owner, or architect, enabling effective backlog definition and execution to achieve delivery goals. + Sound understanding of programming, building scalable enterprise grade Cloud Native Services on the latest Technology Stack or Web Applications using cutting edge Web Technologies + Prior experience working with feature teams is preferred. + Good understanding of AI technologies is an added advantage. + Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders + Strong team player with a positive attitude and the ability to drive topics forward + Strong presentation and communication skills + Demonstrate curiosity and innovation in enabling future solutions in your area of work. + Contribute to development with the team members and actively participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions. + Be responsible for driving technology and engineering best practices in the teams and champion their adoption. Mentor developers on software design, coding and test practices and form a holistic mentoring. **Meet your Team:** The Sub Solution Area Integration within Business Technology Platform is responsible for SAP's strategic integration platform products and cloud services. This includes SAP Integration Suite on the Business Technology Platform, which is offering integration capabilities for heterogenous and hybrid landscapes of our enterprise customers, such as A2A and B2B integrations, API Management, Event based Integrations, and integrating with non-SAP applications. We are delivering into and operating 20k plus customers, both direct customers using SAP's integration platform, as well as customers using our technology indirectly via embedment into SAP cloud applications.
