Location: Plymouth, MN in office 5 days per week

Timeline: This Internship opportunity is for May-August 2026

What you will do:

Work closely with an assigned engineer to:Apply thermal science theory and principles to HVAC data analysis and modelingLearn and contribute to Daikin heat exchanger performance modeling and predictionLearn basics of HVAC industry heat exchanger and chiller design, operation, and modelingInteract with and get exposure to a range of Daikin engineering personnel, including test technicians and laboratory personnel, engineers, project managers, and engineering management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Junior currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or relatedSuccessfully completed Thermodynamics ICompletion of Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics by Spring 2026Work visa sponsorship is not available for this positionExperience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scaleExposure to HVAC systemsExperience with experimental methods, data analysis and uncertainty analysisReside within a 300-mile radius of the Plymouth, MN office

The typical hourly pay rate for this position is $24/hr - $27/hr. This represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
