Development Engineer – Life Cycle Management (Image Guided Therapy)
As a Development Engineer in our Life Cycle Management (LCM) team for Image Guided Therapy, you play a key role in ensuring that our advanced medical imaging systems continue to perform safely, reliably, and efficiently throughout their entire lifecycle. In this role, you act as the technical owner of your Motion product(s), driving the full engineering backlog—from design changes and quality issues to supplier escalations, factory needs, and field feedback. You combine deep technical problem-solving with strong stakeholder alignment to keep our systems compliant, high-performing, and future-ready. Your expertise enables clinicians around the world to deliver accurate, confident, and life-saving care every day. **Your role** + Your work keeps life-saving medical systems running at their best. By improving product performance, resolving technical challenges, and qualifying new components, you help clinicians deliver accurate, confident care for every patient. + You will join a dedicated LCM engineering team working closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality & Regulatory, Motion architecture teams, Procurement, suppliers, and field service. Together, you ensure our Motion systems consistently meet Philips’ engineering, quality, and regulatory standards worldwide. + You will own the complete technical product backlog—covering changes, issues, improvements, supplier escalations, factory requests, and field/hospital topics. As the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all technical aspects of your product, you drive prioritization, decision-making, and timely resolution of all lifecycle challenges. + You are expected to prioritize and coordinate with all stakeholders, proactively identify quality and productivity improvements, and ensure issues are tackled with the right level of urgency and technical depth. + You will work closely with the Technical Product Owner (TPO) on the technical roadmap of your Motion products, ensuring alignment between lifecycle needs, long-term product strategy, and engineering resource planning. + This role offers the chance to deepen your expertise in complex mechatronics, verification and validation, design optimization, supplier qualification, and lifecycle engineering. You will gain broad exposure across the Philips IGT Systems organization—building a strong foundation for future growth into senior engineering, system architecture, project leadership, or technical specialist roles. **Experience** + You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering (or similar). + You have experience in system design, mechatronics, hardware development, component engineering, or verification—ideally within a high-tech or regulated (medical device) environment. + You bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, understand verification/validation methods, and can turn requirements into robust engineering solutions while managing multiple technical stakeholders. + You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly, and are motivated to continuously improve product quality, reliability, and user experience. **How we work together** We believe that we are better together than apart.
