Job Description
We are seeking a talented designer/engineer to join our team. This role involves modeling parts and pieces needed for systems and creating fabrication drawings. Initially, work will be delegated by a lead or project engineer, progressing to full product design as company and product knowledge is gained. The position eventually includes fieldwork, participating in kickoffs, planning, and customer sign-offs through design and installation of equipment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a fabrication environment and capable of supporting the shop floor, working with fabricators and welders to ensure the final product meets requirements.
ResponsibilitiesCreate simple models of parts and pieces needed for systems.Develop fabrication drawings based on delegated work.Update models and parts by pulling information and drawings from the Vault.Grow into full product design with gained company and product knowledge.Conduct fieldwork, including measurements and system evaluations.Participate in project kickoffs, planning, and customer sign-offs.Support the shop floor, ensuring final product meets requirements.Collaborate with fabricators and welders to ensure drawings reflect correct information.Essential SkillsProficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.Experience in creating part, assembly, and fabrication drawings.Ability to model with experience in BOMs, weld symbols, notes, and blocks.Familiarity with steel fabrication drawings (1/4 inch or more).Skill in using a tape measure accurately.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience with Inventor.Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent.Experience working in a fabrication environment.Work Environment
This position involves working primarily at a desk in your own corner. Ideal candidates can focus on tasks independently while executing directions efficiently. Expect extra hours from October to March during the busy season, with 25% travel for customer site measurements. The work environment is relaxed and supportive, offering six paid holidays, one week of PTO, and a good health benefits plan. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
