Position Overview: Provide substation protection and control design, technical support, and coordination to a transmission substation engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality design and drafting projects. Provide technical competency on complex problems for projects including a wide range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems, and solar collector substations. Duties & Responsibilities + Understanding of protection and control designs as they apply to utility substation and transmission line equipment. + Experience in reading and interpreting P&C design packages, including one- and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, panel drawings, and wiring diagrams + Create substation P&C design drawings from client standards and industry best practices for substation P&C projects + Ability to interpret written specifications and implement them in engineering drawings + Collaborate, communicate, and liaise effectively with other design disciplines + Visit sites, advise on P&C design issues Requirements + 2-4 Year(s) experience in CAD Design + Proven Autocad and/or Microstation skills Other Skills/Abilities + Effective oral and written communication skills + Self-Motivated + Work independently + Team-Oriented + Customer Oriented + Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members + Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds + Think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems Desired Qualifications + Experience in the utility industry NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
