Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) Talent Acquisition Team requires: Position Overview One North is seeking an experienced Design Systems Lead II with a strong passion for UX/UI and Design Systems, specializing in enterprise web and mobile applications, design systems, and deep expertise in Figma. As a member of the multi-disciplinary Design team, you will create innovative, user-centric product experiences that align with research insights, brand guidelines, and drive business outcomes, with a particular focus on creating and evolving enterprise design systems that power product growth. This role will ideally be based in the Chicago area, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S. and Canada. Responsibilities • Lead the creation of enterprise design systems including sophisticated UI kits, governance and processes, documentation, and software component libraries. • Lead a team of design system designers and design engineers; mentor their technical and soft skills • Manage associated headcount with sales pipeline, and balance FTEs with contractors • Advocate for design system adoption and develop programs for enablement within large, multi faceted teams and organizations • Clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders. • Work with One North leadership and business development functions to sell and solution new work • Translate research into user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes optimized for a range of devices, interfaces, and form factors • Test, interpret results, and iterate design solutions efficiently and intelligently • Design high-fidelity enterprise web and mobile applications that follow UX and UI best practices • Evaluate, consult, and optimize design systems for client needs • Ensure related Figma workspaces, files, libraries, and components are optimized • Foster strong partnership and collaboration between researchers, designers, engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders. • Ensure designs are brand-compliant and support business objectives. • Lead working sessions with clients and present original work. • Openness to feedback from colleagues and clients • Mentor and oversee the work of Design Systems Designers, Product Designers, Senior Product Designers • Serve as Lead subject matter expert with client stakeholders When packing your bags, please bring: • An expert understanding of design fundamentals, design systems, user-experience fundamentals and digital product experiences • An expert command of Figma and it’s advanced features (such as AutoLayout, Variables, DevMode, Advanced Prototyping) • Experience and knowledge around Design System tools such as Zeroheight, Knapsack, Tokens Studio, Gradial • Interest and explorations are integrating AI into product and design system workflows • Experience and passion for UX/UI designs • Deep understanding of design systems and their interconnectivity with engineering teams • Ability to adapt designs to various screen sizes and form factors • Expertise around design implications around WCAG accessibility requirements • Thriving in a multi-disciplinary environment with design, client services, strategy, and technology teams. • Demonstrating a high quality execution of work in all areas. • Being a self-starter and pushing the vision for our clients. • Passion for digital design and staying up-to-date on the latest tech and trends. • Experience working in an Agile process • Understanding of various inquiry methods such as usability testing Your weapons (wield them wisely): • 10+ years of design experience in an in-house product or design systems team, consultancy, or agency. • Strong portfolio of work samples that demonstrate high fidelity designs, strategic design thinking, and complex problem solving. • Competency in common inquiry methods for UX design • Exceptional visual design skills (e.g. typography, color, layout) • Advanced skills in Figma • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JS, and responsive design (coding is not a requirement). • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Eye for detail and high personal standards • Dedication to following industry best practices and trends Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $187400.00/yr. We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
