Design Engineer Intern (Summer 2026)
PacSci EMC – an operating company under Ralliant – is seeking a Design Engineer Intern to join our Engineering team. This internship is designed for students graduating in 2026–2027 who are eager to gain hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical design, CAD modeling, and engineering documentation within the aerospace and defense industry. Responsibilities: + Assist in preparing working plans, detailed drawings, and complete mechanical or electrical component and assembly drawings. + Support engineering and manufacturing teams by working from notes, instructions, and sketches. + Collaborate with technical engineers to ensure model accuracy and adherence to drafting/design standards. + Verify completed work by checking dimensions, materials, and quantities. + Contribute to maintaining configuration control and document management standards. + Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: + Junior or senior standing in 2026 or 2027, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. + Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and drafting software (SolidWorks preferred). + Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ANSI Y14.5 standards. + Familiarity with configuration control and document management systems is a plus. + Machine shop knowledge or experience with manufacturing techniques and tool design is desirable. + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with peers. + Due to contractual and regulatory requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. PacSci EMC is a U.S. Department of State ITAR-regulated employer. To comply with ITAR-controlled contracts, this position requires U.S. citizenship.
