Job Description Insight Global is looking to hire on a Design Engineer for a large manufacturing client in the Charlotte, NC area.  This position is responsible for project management and process engineering services. The position will involve projects in their full scope from initial estimating, proposal submission, construction and start-up. The position will also be available to assist manufacturing plants with safety, quality, process optimization and productivity improvements. Responsibilities include: - Major focus will be on projects related to the manufacturing plants - Develop project scopes; estimate equipment, installations, and engineering costs and prepare project schedules for Appropriation Requests - Complete all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule - Design of and/or oversee preparation of construction drawings packages for capital projects - Oversee field construction activities - Project start-ups - Specification and procurement of equipment and engineering and construction services - Work with existing facilities for maintenance, repair and improvement projects We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements - BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience - Thorough understanding of OSHA safety regulations related to assigned projects - Computer skills – Microsoft Office, AutoCAD - Willingness to travel - Engineering design experience specifically in steel structural design - Ability to plan and coordinate a project from start to finish - Ability to handle multiple projects - Excellent communication skills - Project Management experience - Experience with SAP - Experience in wallboard or equivalent manufacturing plant and process
