Job Description: Design Engineer Join our team as a Design Engineer and play a crucial role in designing innovative dairy equipment. You will be responsible for implementing new designs and product changes using the ECR/ECO process, and creating and executing test plans for new equipment designs. Collaborate with suppliers, evaluate technologies for cost reduction, and ensure proper documentation of safety certifications. Responsibilities + Assist with the design of dairy equipment and implement new designs via the ECR/ECO process. + Create and execute test plans for new equipment designs. + Collaborate with purchasing to source hard-to-find components and validate alternatives. + Evaluate current technologies for cost reduction and production improvement. + Validate Bills of Materials on Sales Orders for new installations. + Create custom parlor layouts and Bills of Materials for expansions and unique installations. + Assist the production facility with issues related to product builds. + Provide engineering documentation to team members and customers as needed. + Ensure timely documentation of safety certifications and technical files. + Conduct root cause analysis of design and field issues. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. + Minimum 5 years of product design experience or 2 years of design experience with relevant dairy experience. + Proficient in Solidworks product design and execution of ECOs/ECRs. + Experience interfacing with suppliers on a technical level. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. + Broad knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. + Proficient in product development from concept through production release with automated dairy processing products. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in cradle to grave product management. + Knowledge of 3A construction requirements and FDA regulations. + Project management and new product development experience. + Experience in sheet metal, mechanical design, food & beverage, and process engineering. + Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
