Design Engineer
Job Title: Design EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and creating 3D models and 2D drawings, utilizing SolidWorks, and contributing to the development of plating racks, trays, inspection fixtures, and masking materials.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks for plating racks and trays used in various plating processes, inspection fixtures for various part configurations/geometries, and masking materials used in plating operations.Create a 3D model library for various parts to aid production with surface area calculations.Design, build, and validate prototype designs.Utilize 3D printing technology to create masking and prototypes to aid production.Identify solutions to improve process and production efficiency.Review internal processing specifications to ensure applicable industry standards such as AMS, ASTM, etc. are met.Generate standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plating related processes.Write reports and present results to management team.Participate in a daily MRB session.
Essential SkillsProficient experience in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks).Solid understanding of the design process.Solid understanding of mechanical design (vibration, gears, tolerance, etc.).Knowledge in material selection and material properties (strength, weight, corrosion performance, etc.).Technical writing skill.Proficient in MS Office.Ability to multitask and attention to detail.Ability to lift 15 lbs box and/or fixtures.
Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum degree in mechanical engineering.

This position is set within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment where the ability to adapt and efficiently manage tasks is critical.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
