As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding and aligning with client needs for product development. You will engage in cross-functional brainstorming and idea generation with team members to design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using SolidWorks. You will contribute to and lead discussions during mechanical design evaluations, create and assess initial concept models, and construct and perform testing on working prototypes.
ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and align with client needs for the products being developed.Engage in cross-functional brainstorming and idea generation with team members.Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using SolidWorks.Contribute to and lead discussions during mechanical design evaluations.Create and assess initial concept models.Construct and perform testing on working prototypes.Essential Skills3-5 years of design and 2D experience in SolidWorks.Hands-on experience working with a variety of materials including plastics, steel, and aluminum.Strong, confident communication skills for client-facing discussions.Experience with three-dimensional modeling software.Knowledge of GD&T and proficiency with hand and power tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline.Comfortable brainstorming and sketching mechanical ideas in collaborative environments.A natural problem solver willing to explore beyond their core expertise.Eager to learn and grow through hands-on experience.Strong verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.Familiarity with 2D technical drawings and standard drafting conventions.A portfolio showcasing academic or personal projects is a plus.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
