Design Engineer
Job Title: Design Engineer Purpose of Position: As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in implementing innovative product designs, refining design strategies, and enhancing existing processes. You will serve as the technical point of contact for project teams, providing guidance on the design and technical specifications across all projects to ensure smooth execution and high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities: + Blueprint Examination: Review blueprints, engineering drawings, components, shipping lists, and installation drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards while identifying potential errors. + Collaborative Design: Work closely with Design Draftsmen, Engineers, and Project Managers to develop logical and cost-effective designs that meet project requirements. + Detailed Drawings Preparation: Create comprehensive drawings for RF Shielded Enclosures and Anechoic Chambers, including architectural plans as per client specifications. + Material Research: Investigate materials and building assemblies to incorporate into project designs, maximizing efficiency and functionality. + Modular Design Coordination: Gather and compile necessary data to complete modular designs, collaborating with manufacturing teams to optimize fabrication processes. + Project Management: Manage and detail projects of varying sizes with precision and speed, taking them from inception through to completion. + Client Interaction: Lead design meetings for special projects, interfacing with clients to ensure their design requirements are met and expectations exceeded. + Team Development: Act as the Lead Designer on specialty projects, assist in training the design team, and implement processes that enhance team performance. Requirements: + Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. + A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment developing both 3D and 2D models and drawings. + Proficiency in drafting and modeling across multiple disciplines, including architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical designs. + Expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. + Familiarity with ASME codes and standards. + Strong mechanical inclination with excellent organizational and planning skills. + Effective oral and written communication abilities. + Capability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and manage time efficiently. + High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and precision. + Problem-solving skills with the ability to strategize for optimal solutions. + Experience in Radio Frequency and Electromagnetic Shielding is a plus.
