Product Development Design Assurance is a global team within Product Development’s Vehicle Hardware Engineering (VHE) and Vehicle Systems Engineering and Testing (VSET) organization. Our mission is to enhance the PD Compliance Demonstration Report (CDR) engineering process through greater discipline and execution, leading to better performance in warranty and field service actions. In this role you will be responsible for providing focus on robust delivery of evidence for regulatory compliance on all vehicle programs.

You'll have…

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering, or related field Regulatory Compliance or Automotive Safety Office knowledge. Process disciplined; Follow standardized processes and procedures. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal skills including relationship building and conflict resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience of collaborating with cross functional teams. Analytical Mindset; Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint.

In this position...

Provide focus on robust delivery of evidence for regulatory compliance on vehicle programs within Global Vehicle Hardware Engineering (VHE) Design Assurance. Coach and Lead local PD engineering teams on the Compliance Demonstration Plan & Report (CDP&R) delivery to support program requirements and ensure GPDS milestone standards are maintained. Engage ASO SMEs and core PD SMEs as required to deliver regulatory requirements.

What you'll do...

Support and maintain key quality metrics on Compliance Demonstration Report delivery. Maintain and improve Compliance Demonstration Report quality dashboard and the Compliance Demonstration Report quality data mining process. Deliver quarterly Compliance Demonstration Report metrics to the functional teams at the VHE VP BPR. Attend Regulatory PAT meetings to collaborate on questions concerning Engineering Compliance Demonstration Plan & Report submissions. Support functional Design Quality Reviews to communicate key Compliance Demonstration Report quality metrics and identify systemic Compliance Demonstration Report issues. Lead Compliance Demonstration Report review for accuracy and completeness. Identify Compliance Demonstration Report error states and improvement actions during reviews. Review the steps required to verify a complete Compliance Demonstration Report submission. Support E&SC cascade of requirements. This includes communication with the D&R, Tech Specialist and E&SC when updates are needed to complete a robust Compliance Demonstration Report package. Elevate any major issues to management team. Maintain Compliance Demonstration Report review progress and manage timing and milestone deliverables for the programs. Complete assessments and communicate with ASO SME’s, technical specialist, and engineers of any questionable and/or missing information. Collaborate with Automotive Safety Office Embedded Functional Experts on systemic Compliance Demonstration Report error states. Coordinate NHTSA internal vehicle audits as requested by the Automotive Safety Office including ordering vehicles, interfacing with VEV test planner to execute test plan, attend all testing and maintain test reports. Communicate progress/results to PD functional teams. Support vehicle Fresh Eye Reviews as required.
