We are recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic Design Assistant to join our in-house Design team for our brand Love & Roses. Working in a varied and forward thinking department, we are looking for someone who can add innovative ideas and enthusiasm into design processes and strategy. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their talent within the fashion industry. You will work closely with a creative and talented Senior Designer who will strongly support your development and provide the opportunity to grow your experience across product development.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support the Design team across all product categories Create and amend CAD's in Photoshop and Illustrator Assist with the preparation for sign off meetings; organising samples and updating CAD sheets Managing daily tasks in line with critical path Research relevant trends for shape, print and colour in keeping with the brand Create competitor shop reports, trend flashes and key items Assist designers in compilation of concept, colour and trend boards Liaise with Buying, Garment Tech, Suppliers & Factories Sending suppliers trend boards and sourcing packs Keep up to date with the latest trends via shops, catwalks and social media, to provide insight and recommendations to the team Provide consistent and quality admin support to the team Continually aim to develop yourself, asking your Line Manager for support and guidance Complete any other duties as reasonably requested by the company to ensure the continuous development of the business Work to your own initiative and be able to take responsibility when required by the team
Your Talent:
Fashion design related degree or equivalent industry experience within fashion retail Previous experience in a Design Assistant role (this can be from a completing years placement during studies) Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills Ability to translate trends into a commercial way for the Love & Roses customer Previous experience working in a fast paced environment Indesign and hand sketching skills Adept in technical drawings Excellent attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Great organisation skills and the ability to adjust to changes and work flexibly Able to multitask whilst producing high quality output and meeting deadlines Demonstrate a can-do attitude and resilience Self-motivated and eager to learn
