The Design Asset Specialist (Project Hire) will give their talents and expertise to a small, dedicated, professional team providing for the needs of an important physical and digital assets under the care of the Walt Disney Imagineering Collection team. This role utilizes all Walt Disney Imagineering asset repositories by providing research, managing work in progress documents, and assuring the retention, cataloging, organization and preservation of relevant information. The role assures ease of access to these assets by creative teams, maintenance organizations, business units across TWDC and outside organizations. The Asset Specialist provides curator's expertise for the specialized insight, preservation and management of original assets, whether traditional mediums or digital. The Asset Specialist has an intimate knowledge of Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Company Intellectual Property (IP) and collaborates with legal counsel to supervise approvals for the access and use of archived material.
In addition to the responsibilities above, project-based Design Asset Specialists will work with TWDC Studio partners (Disney Entertainment) to create and/or maintain a digital and physical asset pipeline between the Studio(s) and the WDI project teams. They will research, request, and distribute sensitive and highly sensitive Studio IP content and must adhere to the Studio Security protocols and policies, making sure the project team and their vendors also abide by these practices.
You will report to the (Show) Documentation leader and receive assignments from various project leaders

This is a Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Prepare original art and physical assets for digital capture
+ Follow workflows to process, ingest and catalog images and artwork as well as manage asset version control to track changes as appropriate
+ Perform research and provide reference materials
+ Be responsible for organization, inventory and preservation of digital and physical assets
+ Maintain compliance with applicable Sensitive Information Protection policies
+ Track asset usage and licensing as applicable
**Required Qualifications & Skills**
+ 3+ years of proven experience managing digital and physical assets or working in an archive, library or related entertainment industry
+ Ability to perform with a very high level of accuracy while completing detailed tasks in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
+ Ability to think creatively and contribute in a team environment
+ Diligent and effective work habits with the ability to consistently deliver very high-quality performance in short time frames
+ Ability to work independently and collaborate with creative teams, project management and technical disciplines as needed
+ Understanding of digital pipeline is preferred as well as proficiency in image editing software and digital asset management systems
+ Ascend and descend stairs
+ Ascend and descend a traditional or step stool/stepladder
+ Lift, push, and pull items up to 20 lbs., to include; artwork, boxes, and other stored items from storage facility to staging/work area and final disposition.
**Preferred Qualifications & Skills**
+ Validated understanding of artwork mediums
+ Understanding of photography principles
+ Experience with digital image color management
+ Experience with DAM (Digital Asset Management) systems, Metadata and Taxonomy
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, in particular)
+ General Disney Theme Park knowledge
**Education**
+ Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Archival Studies, Library Science, Digital Media, Museum Studies, Communications, Fine Arts, Art History, Graphic Design, History and Archaeology, Sociology, the Sciences and/or Anthropology or Architecture, Graphic Design or Visual Communication or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $64,300 to $86,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
