California, here we come!_ As part of this bold expansion into Los Angeles, we are looking for a **Deputy Print Production Chief** to join the California Post team. Reporting into the Print Production Chief, the Deputy Print Production Chief will oversee the daily design and production of the California Post newspaper. This role requires strong print production experience, the ability to lead a team of designers, and the skills to deliver high-quality pages under the tightest of deadlines. The Deputy Print Production Chief will ensure every page is executed with precision, updated in real time for multiple editions, and reflective of the Post’s bold editorial standards. Evening and weekend work will be required. **Responsibilities:** + Oversee daily production and design of the California Post newspaper from start to finish. + Manage and guide a team of page designers, ensuring every page is visually strong, accurate, and on brand. + Coordinate and update pages and respond quickly to breaking news and developing stories. + Work closely with editors, photo teams, and senior leadership to translate editorial priorities into impactful page designs. + Enforce deadlines and maintain quality control across all sections of the newspaper. + Problem-solve production issues quickly to keep pages on track for print deadlines. + Contribute to the continued evolution of the California Post’s print design, balancing creativity with consistency. **Requirements:** + 7+ years of professional experience in print production, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. + Proven background in managing teams in a fast-paced newsroom environment. + Deep understanding of print production workflows, deadlines, and edition management. + Expertise with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and other industry-standard design tools. + Strong editorial judgment and visual design skills, with a keen eye for detail. + Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under intense time pressure. + Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as news demands. **_Note: The California Post adheres to a hybrid work model.
