Purpose of Role:

Deputy Manager – Comminution specialist drives Weir’s growth strategy by developing sustainable grinding solutions using High pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) and Stirred Mills technologies.  This role focuses on delivering world-class new innovative grinding solutions,  for greenfield and brownfield upgrades by conducting systematic on-site test works and preparation of technical reports, simulations to support customers during flowsheet development activity,  Collaborating with global teams and regional sales teams , you will ensure sustainable, energy-efficient grinding solutions for mining clients, shaping the future of Weir’s comminution strategy for OE penetration for hard rock minerals.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Support: Provide process and technical assistance to customers with a primary focus on Weir’s comminution products namely Enduron High pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) and  Enduron Stirred Mill (ESM).  Collaborate effectively with both internal and external sales teams, as well as engaging directly with customers to develop sustainable comminution solutions and flowsheet of the future for hard rock mining customers.Provide Technical Solutions: Conduct on-site HPGR tests to develop comminution circuit with HPGR, optimisation of grinding parameters and preparation of test report.  Compile information to formulate and deliver new advanced grinding solutions to customers. Use internal software tools to size and select HPGR machines.Cross-departmental Support: Provide technical support to internal teams such as Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, and assist other designers and engineers by providing guidance and feedbackMaintain Relative Documentation: Prepare customer proposals, reports and presentations related to HPGR, ESM   Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.


Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Mineral Processing and preferably Doctoral study particularly on HPGR and stirred mill technologies5 to 8 years of experience in of mineral processing research, process development, flowsheet developmentExperience and knowledge in  mathematical modelling and simulation of grinding processes. Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Education and Qualifications:
