Job Description Summary: Under the direction of the Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer, the Deputy Chief Investment Officer, assists with the management of investment and banking activities which include investment manager and consultant partnerships along with banking and cash management relationships. Responsibilities: - Assist with the investment due diligence process which includes attendance of investor meetings and on-site manager meetings, review of due diligence documents, reference checks, private placement questionnaires and other required documents. - Review legal and other documents related to investments. - Manage legal counsel and negotiate terms with prospective managers.- Oversee the compliance reporting for investment managers which includes monthly review of investments and review of Form ADV, as applicable.- Assist with the development of investment strategies to maximize returns on investments. - Coordinate with external investment consultant reporting of performance and recommended revisions to the investment policy. - Provide input and make recommendations on manager selections for the portfolios. - Conduct due diligence meetings with external investment managers.- Oversee cash management and investment programs. - Direct the investment reporting process which includes: coordination/reconciliation with the custodian, investment managers and consultant; and accounting for the Cash Concentration Pool and System Endowment Fund which includes dissemination of information to management, the A&M System members, state entities, other state universities, and others as required. - Attend CFO meetings to provide investment updates, as needed.- Oversee the A&M System banking relationships and assist System members with requests related to banking, credit cards and general information. - Administer the selection process of banking institutions and monitor the quality of the services provided to System members. - Oversee the Request for Proposal process for banking, credit card processing and investment services, in coordination with the procurement office.- Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Business or any Bachelor's degree with a Master's in Business or any Bachelor's degree with a CPA, CAIA, or CFA. - Ten years in investments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Ability to analyze and summarize financial information in a clear, concise manner. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Strong problem-solving abilities. - Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software. - Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
