dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner APRN to join the busy and growing Department of Cardiac SurgeryUnder the direction of a cardiothoracic surgeon the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner APRN is responsible for performing a variety of duties These duties include but are not limited to first assisting cardiovascular surgical procedures endoscopic vessel harvesting preoperative history and physical examination postoperative care including ICU and stepdown management inpatient consultantsThe successful candidate will support patient care from the point of admission to discharge including Step Down ICU and OR Duties include managing multiple patients with varied critical illness comprehensive physical assessments interpretation of diagnostic results hemodynamicventilator management and invasive procedures Experience for skills such as arterial lines central lines chest tubes feeding tubes are preferred but not requiredRole Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse PractitionersLocation SVMC Main Street Bridgeport CT Setting Inpatient cardiac surgical servicesSchedule h shifts xweek Full time salaried rotating includes day evening
