Job Details As a vital member of our surgical services team, the Surgery Administrative Coordinator provides essential administrative and organizational support to the Department of Surgery, the Chair of Surgery, and the Director of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This role supports the mission of our Catholic healthcare ministry by promoting compassionate service, operational excellence, and collaborative teamwork that enhances the quality and safety of patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Director of APPs, including calendar management, coordination of meetings, and timely follow-up on agenda items. Schedule and arrange screening interviews for incoming APP candidates; assist with the onboarding process in collaboration with Central Credentialing. Maintain and manage credential files for Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Coordinate and prepare materials for the Department of Surgery’s monthly Performance Improvement (PI) meetings and ensure appropriate physician review of cases. Assist the Chair of Surgery and Chair of Orthopedic Surgery with department-related projects, reports, and programs as assigned. Oversee the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) process for all newly appointed APPs, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation. Coordinate quarterly Operating Room Committee and Tissue Committee meetings, including preparing minutes and ensuring timely follow-up on action items. Support departmental data management efforts and ensure accurate tracking of key clinical and administrative outcomes. Qualifications Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of administrative support experience in a healthcare or hospital setting; experience in surgical or clinical departments is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with electronic credentialing and documentation systems. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
