Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced **Department Manager** to lead the operations of our rapidly growing, multidisciplinary Mine Infrastructure team in Canada. This pivotal role will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, delivering exceptional mining services, and supporting growth of our services to our clients across Canada. As a member of the Mining Leadership Team for Canada, the Department Manager will play a key role in shaping the future of our mining business, fostering innovation, and maintaining AECOM’s reputation for excellence. This position will include people management responsibilities, overseeing direct team members and line managers from provinces across the country, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals. **Key Responsibilities:** **Leadership & Strategy:** + Serve as a key member of the Mining Leadership Team for Canada, contributing to the development and execution of the mining business strategy. + Help drive growth initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and expand AECOM’s mining services portfolio across Canada. + Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the mining team. **Operational Excellence:** + Oversee day-to-day operations of the department including civil, geotechnical, mechanical, structural, electrical and instrumentation discipline staff. + Establish and implement best practices, processes, and tools to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction. + Monitor and manage department performance metrics. **People Management:** + Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of professionals located across multiple provinces. + Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that supports employee engagement, growth, and retention. + Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development. **Client & Stakeholder Engagement:** + Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure AECOM’s position as a trusted advisor in the mining sector. + Represent AECOM at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote our expertise and capabilities. + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of multidisciplinary services to clients. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Civil, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field. + 12+ years of experience in the mining industry, with a proven track record of leadership and operational management. + 4+ years People Management experience as a direct manager + Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects. + Strong understanding of the Canadian mining sector, including regulatory frameworks, market trends, and client needs. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent certification. + Experience with business development, strategic planning, and client relationship management. + Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and manage remote employees effectively. **Key Competencies:** + **Leadership:** Inspires and motivates teams to achieve ambitious goals. + **Strategic Thinking:** Develops and executes strategies that align with organizational objectives. + **Collaboration:** Builds strong relationships across disciplines and geographies. + **Problem-Solving:** Tackles challenges with innovative and practical solutions. + **Communication:** Articulates ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. **Additional Information** Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
