**Description:**
The Comprehensive Women's Health Center at Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, is looking for a candidate who has excellent interpersonal skills and embraces our team atmosphere.
You would provide a wide range of administrative duties to ensure efficient daily operations within the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center. Responsible for performing all front-end administrative duties, including patient pre-registration, screening, check-in, and insurance verification. Manages work queues related to pre-registration, estimates and confirmations, processes co-pays and referrals to Financial Counseling, and ensures accurate documentation. Additional duties include appointment scheduling and general clerical support—all while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous professional manner identifying themselves and their department..
+ Accurately registers patients ensuring that the information required is obtained confirming identity, address, phone numbers, PCP, insurance, co-pay and other pertinent information in order to complete patient registration.
+ Verifies active primary and secondary third-party payer insurance coverage eligibility with the payers via prescribes format. Collects co-payment at time of visit and proactively collects outstanding balances in order to improve point of service collection rate. Reconciles cash draw and balances monies at the end of day.
+ Distributes department correspondence (mail, fax) to appropriate sections.
+ Demonstrates flexibility by cross covering other positions within the various departments or sites when assigned.
+ Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.
+ Ensures immediate resolution of problems, concerns and complaints of patients, families, or visitors.
+ Demonstrates flexibility in work hours and locations based on the needs of the department and/or organization.
**Position Hours:**
40 hours, Day Shifts
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent. College coursework in secretarial or medical sciences preferred.
+ Experience in patient registration, insurance verification or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would demonstrate acquisition of the knowledge/skill required to perform the duties of this position.
+ Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.
+ Must have the ability to work well with others in a very busy, close environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
+ Demonstrates flexibility and working in a collaborative manner.
