Job Details Assists the dental residents and attending in patient care, as well as assists the dental supervisor in administrative duties as appropriate. Responsibilities: Provides chairside assistance to dental residents. Provides patient/family education. Cleans and disinfects operatory after patients are completed. Sets up operatory for the next patient appointment. Sterilizes instruments. Takes and develops x-rays as needed. Assists in the coordination and scheduling of patients as indicated. Prepares and maintains patient charts, required reports and other appropriate paperwork. Maintains and monitors dental equipment, instruments and supplies, as needed. Answers telephone; provides information to patients, public and staff as indicated in a friendly and courteous manner. Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program or 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental office or hospital dental clinic preferred. Prior experience working with patients with mental and physical disabilities preferred. BLS Certification Salary Range USD $18.16 - USD $27.24 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
