Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
Oversee and manage the culinary operations within your assigned section of the kitchenEnsure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste for all dishes prepared in your sectionCollaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop and implement new menu itemsTrain and supervise junior kitchen staff within your section, providing guidance and feedbackMaintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standardsMonitor and control food costs, minimising waste and optimising ingredient usageAssist in inventory management and stock rotation to ensure freshness of ingredientsParticipate in daily kitchen briefings and contribute ideas for improvementEnsure timely preparation and delivery of dishes during service periodsMaintain a clean and organised work environment at all timesAssist in menu planning and recipe development, considering seasonal ingredients and market trendsCoordinate with other sections of the kitchen to ensure smooth overall operationsContribute to the creation of special menus for events and promotionsAssist in managing portion control and plating consistency across all dishes in your sectionActively participate in staff training sessions and stay updated on culinary trends and techniquesSupport the Head Chef and Sous Chef in achieving the overall culinary goals of the hotelEnsure that all culinary dishes in your section meet the hotel's high standards of creativity and qualityAdapt quickly to high-pressure situations during peak service timesContribute to the hotel's reputation as a culinary destination in the local marketQualifications• Certificate in Food production or any culinary Hotel management course
• Must have worked at least one year as a Demi Chef de Partie in Hotels and Restaurants
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strongly committed to teamwork and customer service
• Eye for detail to achieve operational excellence
Full grade twelve school certificate
