Demand Planner
Location: Fairfield, NJ (Hybrid: 3–4 days in office, 1–2 days remote)
Salary: $80,000–$110,000 + 10% annual bonus potential
About the Role:
JSG is a professional search firm, partnering with one of our top clients to recruit a Demand Planner who will manage and facilitate the monthly demand planning process, supporting alignment to the Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP). This role leads to the development of accurate supply and demand plans and scenarios for assigned business units, improving statistical baseline forecasts and collaborating closely with Sales to reach consensus on future demand. The Demand Planner will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, formal demand reviews, and the rollout of a new integrated planning tool solution.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in demand forecasting and supply chain planning, and thrives in a cross-functional environment, working effectively with sales, marketing, supply planning, replenishment, and business unit leaders to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time. Key Responsibilities: Generate a consensus forecast by collaborating with Sales and Marketing, while documenting assumptions. Review historical sales trends, analyze demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and develop statistical forecast models. Reconcile significant forecast variances and refine models based on updated sales and marketing insights. Collaborate with Marketing on new product development (NPD) and innovation processes. Develop seasonal demand forecasts and plan customer promotional event volumes. Communicate forecast changes and customer action plans with supply planning teams to ensure alignment. Develop and maintain monthly demand and supply requirements using the John Galt Atlas planning tool and Excel. Identify and address potential supply/demand imbalances. Use reports as key planning tools for demand forecasting, stock management, and sales history analysis. Assist in preparing for monthly S&OP meetings to reach consensus on the 12-month Supply/Demand/Inventory plan aligned with business strategy. Support the rollout and execution of the NPD process. Issue reports related to forecast accuracy, bias, exceptions, and continuous improvement opportunities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 3 years’ experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, or customer order fulfillment Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively across functions Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of demand planning and forecasting experience Familiarity with John Galt Atlas and Sage X3 tools Experience managing constrained plans in an ERP system Background in CPG (consumer packaged goods) APICS certification Position Details: Full-time, salaried position (expectation of ~45 hours/week, Monday–Friday) Hybrid work model: 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 days remote No direct supervisory responsibilities Typical office environment with climate control and standard equipment Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $80,000–$110,000 + 10% annual bonus potential Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with 4.5% employer contribution Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities Employee wellness programs Final compensation within the posted range will be determined based on experience, skills, education, training, and other relevant factors.
