Demand Planner
One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Demand Planner to work on a Turnaround for a 2 - month assignment in their facilities in Deer Park, TX.

Summary:

The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting future product demand to support effective inventory management and ensure product availability. This role analyzes historical data, market trends, and business inputs, and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve forecasting accuracy and enhance overall supply chain performance. The ultimate goal is to balance supply with demand while minimizing costs and maximizing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and statistical modeling techniques. Inventory Management: Align inventory levels with demand forecasts to ensure optimal product availability while minimizing excess stock, storage costs, and waste. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather insights, align on business plans, and proactively address potential supply chain disruptions. Data Analysis: Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer behavior to identify demand patterns and forecast shifts. Reporting: Generate and present reports on demand forecasts, inventory metrics, and other key performance indicators to support strategic decision-making. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve potential supply issues, such as shortages or surpluses, and develop solutions to mitigate risks across the supply chain. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, streamline planning processes, and support overall supply chain efficiency.
Requirements:
  Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex data, recognize trends, and translate insights into actionable plans. Mathematics & Statistics: Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting models. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Technology Proficiency: Experience with demand planning software and data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, etc.). Industry Knowledge: Understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management practices.
