The Demand Manager monitors and analyzes data as required to support the processes of forecast, BTO, order entry, order promising, interplant and service parts requirements. Also is responsible for communicating the forecast requirements to the Supply organization as an input to develop the production plan necessary to meet the Demand Forecast.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:Plans, schedules, releases and manages purchase, interplant orders and work orders as required
Manage, develop and maintain the forecast assumptions in anticipation of demand on a monthly basis for the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
Distribute weekly customer shipment report and bookings
Distribute month end customer shipment/bookings report
Provide necessary reports for local or regional Demand Review Meeting: Reports showing Actual to Sales Plan, Profit Plan, and Forecast; aggregate forecast from item number, to product code and/or manufacturing family; bookings analysis; forecast QDRC Metrics; manufacturing family forecast review
Provide necessary data for local or regional reports for BTO: Analyze variances of forecast from prior month (financial & quantity); analyze major adjustments (financial & quantity increases/decreases); reconcile differences in forecast vs. actual orders (per OESLA); prepare documents necessary for monthly meeting
Provide necessary reports for local or regional Supply Review Meeting: Supply Difference Report (change in quantity month/month); reconcile differences in forecast vs. actual orders (per Planners)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:Demonstrated experience in sales, planning and/or manufacturing organization
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, across functional areas
Solid knowledge of business computer systems and PC tools
Background in computer skills, including Windows, data mining tool such as Monarch, and a report writer such as Business Objects
Be proficient in database management, spreadsheet programs, data conversion programs and word processing programs
Understand forecasting concepts by using a computerized projection of past demand and assist management in creating a forecast that combines the statistical analysis of demand history with Management's anticipation of changes and new demand factors as put forth in the Lucas-Bear software
Understand the MAC, Customer and Product codes and their relationships within the business structure
Understand the ADAM forecasting tool and how it sums and reports the data for Demand, Supply and S&OP meetings
