Our Upstream Chemical Team uses technology consisting of chemistry, knowledge expertise, Intellectual Property, correct application methods and monitoring to improve the water and process treatment applications at refinery and industrial plants while providing value to our clients. Builds customer relationships to identify future requirements to help revenue growth. Leads and develops collaborative efforts to solve complex and unique technical problems.  Provides technical guidance and mentorship to operations teams to enable safe and compliant service and support for our customer's needs.

Job Description Summary

As an Deepwater Scientist, you will Serve as a focal point of internal and external customer requests related to Deepwater businessManage and communicate Deepwater project status to internal and/or external customersPlan and perform laboratory testing to support operation requests and report results to internal and/or external customers within a timely mannerFollow SOPs and testing protocolsAssess results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications; problem solve within a laboratory or field environmentEnsure compliance with all HSE and quality requirementsPerform field support as and when required to meet the needs of the business; this may include travel to off-site field locations across the globeCompliance with all training and competency programsAdministrative tasks such as ordering of laboratory consumables, electronic record keeping and data reporting systems

To be successful in this role you will have:

10 years of oilfield chemical experience, preferably focus on Deepwater applications5 years of laboratory testing experience outside of an academic settingField experience or time dedicated to operations support is highly desiredStrong knowledge about production chemicalsBachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering disciplineExcellent communication skills for both internal and external presentations, reporting and discussionsGreat interpersonal skills, ability to work with a wide range of individuals in a variety of positions across a global organizationGood working knowledge of Microsoft office packagesAbility to problem solve, work independently and be self-motivatedDesire to cross train and work as part of a multidiscipline team
