DEAN OF ACADEMICS AND INNOVATION Overview Position Type Fulltime Exempt Staff Education Level 4 Year Degree Category Education Description The Dean of Academics and Innovation will guide innovative curriculum, pedagogy, and academic systems, and coordinate the Standards for Exceptional Teaching at Sage Hill School (SETS) to support faculty growth and evaluation. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining an updated curricular scope and sequence and well as sound academic policies and processes based on new and relevant research. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following Pedagogical Innovation and Leadership Work closely with other school leaders and departments such as the Department Chairs, the Sage Center team, Learning Specialist, Technology department, College Counseling, and School Counselors to ensure that academic practices are mission aligned with curricular and pedagogical goals. Serve as the school’s expert on cutting-edge educational research and emerging technologies including the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning, the neuroscience of adolescent development, effective assessment design, and innovative pedagogical models (e.g., blended learning, experiential education, interdisciplinary projects). Develop and implement a vision for the comprehensive integration of research-based innovative tools, new technologies, and practices into the curriculum and pedagogy, enhancing the learning experience across all disciplines.
