The Dealership Accounting Coordinator I (DAC I) plays a crucial role in supporting in-store accounting operations. This individual contributor ensures seamless communication and collaboration between Lithia Home Office (LHO), the regional Accounting Processing Center (APC), and store operations.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EXPERIENCED DEALERSHIP ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR
As a Dealership Accounting Coordinator I, your day begins with performing daily check and credit card deposits and reconciling the cash sales accounting schedule. Collaborating with the Business Manager (BM) and store operations employees, you ensure process changes are implemented to maintain accurate records. You audit car deals for completeness, serving as the second line of audit defense before sending them to the Accounting Processing Center (APC).
Throughout the day, you maintain notes on the Booked and Pending report within the Performance Dashboard and work with variable operations to collect outstanding revenue recognition and state compliance items. Providing backup support to F&I Managers, you scan essential documents into the Digital Deal Jacket.
You assist the BM in maintaining reconciled accounting schedules and cross-train in the Title & Registration Specialist role to support other in-store accounting functions. Meeting performance standards for accuracy, timeliness, cure rates, and efficiency is a key part of your role, and you are always ready to take on additional tasks as needed.
