Dealership Accountant II
Dealership Accountant II is a mid-level position that ensures timely, accurate and consistent recording of dealership transactions. This is a traditional accounting role that manages transactional posting of dealership activities. Accounting acumen is required. High performers will build upon their accounting & financial acumen while also building relationship and influential leadership skills. This will serve them well on a path to an Accounting Manager Role or if coupled with Automotive and Business acumen on the path to a Business Manager.

Audit all car deals for Lithia and CA complianceRequest and process lien payoffsProcessing of cash receiptsProcess loaner car retirements, flooring payoffs and stock insProcess loaner car stock ins and flooring requestsAccounting for manufacturer monies (parts, warranty, incentives, misc.)Posting to Intercompany accountsPosting of New & Used Car DealsRecording of wholesale vehicle sales & purchases, lease buyoutsProcess Refunds checks, customer referrals checks and broker checksRDR, Rebate ReconciliationFinance Reserve ReconciliationSchedule reviews and maintenance (SAR understanding, SPARK Notes)Process Journal VouchersUnderstanding of all Product Payable lines and ability to reconcile StatementsUnderstanding of accounts receivableBalance Intercompany transactions (ARAP)Month End close duties and month end checklistMonth End duties (balance sheet and MIS review)Payroll processing in coordination with corporate payroll partnersOther duties as assignedAdditional Qualifications
The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:
Bookkeeping Certification, Associates Degree in Accounting or 2-years commensurate experience (preferred)Auto Industry Experience (required)Retail Sales and/or Customer Service (preferred)CDK software experience, a plusUnderstands Basic Accounting - familiar with COA, debits and creditsAbility to quickly review, research and if necessary resolve variancesEntry to mid-level office and computer skills A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service.A critical thinker and effective time manager.Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.Excellent communication skills both written and oralActive Listening – give full attention to the words and body language of others, take time to understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriatePositive customer service attitudeEmpowered self- leader, accepts responsibility and takes initiative to ensure assigned deliverables are met within acceptable timeframesProficiency Standards
