Technical Skills + 8+ years of experience with DB2 for iSeries (IBM i/ AS400) + Proven expertise in database performance tuning and optimization + Advanced knowledge of SQL tuning, query optimization, and execution plans + Solid understanding of IBM i architecture, storage, and workload management Roles & Responsibilities + Review current database usage patterns to identify anti-patterns and potential performance issues + Analyze execution plans, wait time and resource metrics, and top N queries without performing query rewrites + Identify index gaps, inefficient indexing, and CPU, memory, I/O, and bufferpool configuration issues + Diagnose and resolve database performance, availability, and stability issues + Establish baselines to validate tuning and provide clear, actionable recommendations to application teams + Collaborate with tools team for monitoring + Documentation and implementation of best practices + Knowledge transfer of common tools, processes, and issue resolution Nice to have + Hand on experience building monitoring tools and dashboards that helps understand database performance at-a-glance and send alerts for certain types of problems Location: + Preferred in Los Colinas, TX or Alpharetta, GA – Hybrid.
