About the Role

Qualcomm is leveraging its expertise in hardware-accelerated AI to bring powerful, energy-efficient generative AI and computer vision workloads to data centres. The Qualcomm Cloud AI team is developing several key technologies including comprehensive hardware and software stack for deep learning inference acceleration, designed for rack-scale data centre deployments. 

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Data Centre Technicians to oversee the daily operations, maintenance and performance of Qualcomm's Cloud AI data centre deployments.

This role involves the following activities: 

Ensure optimal performance, uptime and availability of Cloud AI data centre deploymentsManage Qualcomm Cloud AI Accelerator hardware for AI/ML workloadsCommission and decommission equipmentOversee physical infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, power, coolingMonitor and manage incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, preventative measuresOversee software updates and maintenance

    

You will be able to demonstrate the following: 

Understanding of AI/ML workloadsStrong problem-solving and diagnostic abilitiesAbility to work in high-pressure environments and respond to incidents quicklyStrong attention to detail with a focus on quality and reliabilityGood communication skills for coordinating with teamsWillingness to work shifts, on-call rotations and sometimes in physically demanding conditionsHands-on experience installing, troubleshooting and maintaining servers, storage devices, networking equipment and AI accelerators. Familiarity with Linux, bare-metal and virtualization platformsFamiliarity with data centre infrastructureUse of Data Centre Infrastructure Management software and environmental monitoring systemsCommitment to ongoing learning and professional development

  

We'd love to see: 

Experience with ticketing systems and change management processesKnowledge of programming/scripting languages like Python or BashFamiliarity with cloud platforms

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalentBasic knowledge of computer hardware and components.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA) relevant to data center operationsIndustry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, CDCP, CCNA
