Database Architect, Senior Active TS/SCI with Poly REQUIRED
Position Description:

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Database Architect within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities.

You will be responsible for functioning as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. In essence, your responsibilities will include building the foundation for an organization's data management infrastructure; ensuring data is organized, accessible, and secure; and enabling the organization to make informed decisions and achieve its goals.

This position is located in our Washington DC office

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Database Design and Modeling: Creating logical and physical database designs, including data models, schemas, and relationships.
• Database Implementation: Overseeing the deployment of database solutions, ensuring they are integrated with existing systems and meet performance requirements.
• Performance Optimization: Monitoring and optimizing database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve speed and efficiency.
• Security Management: Establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
• Collaboration and Communication: Working with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and communicate database design and implementation details.
• Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of new technologies, trends, and best practices in database management.
• Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for database designs, procedures, and configurations.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Experience: Shall possess a minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
• Education: In addition to experience, shall possess a Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or have Bachelor’s degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 2 years of related senior experience, for a total of 10 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree.
• Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly
• Required: Cloud database experience
• Highly Desired: Excellent experience designing databases in the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community context
• Programming: Proficiency in languages like Python and R, and potentially others like SQL.
• Database Management Systems (DBMS): Strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and data modeling techniques.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and solve complex business problems.
• Communication: Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Team Leader: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. May supervise others.


CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $102,960.00 - $198,240.00.
