We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Marsh Benefits team at Marsh McLennan (MMC). This role will be based in Cluj, Romania.
We are looking for a hands-on Database Analyst who can do more than just follow instructions. You will help us bring our international reporting team to the next level by designing smarter databases, centralizing information, and automating reporting flows. This is a rare opportunity to shape the data infrastructure from the ground up - not just support what is already there.
You will work in a global environment, supporting a team spread across the globe, with an ownership of technical solutions and the freedom to propose improvements.
We will count on you to:
Design, build and keep databases using chosen technology (no legacy - you will shape the architecture).
Create automated workflows in Power Automate to streamline reporting and communication.
Migrate our dashboards from QlikSense to Power BI - including layout, logic, and data modeling.
Analyze existing reporting files and structures to propose smarter solutions.
Research and propose how data will be collected and maintained going forward, including restructuring current files, collecting missing inputs, and cleaning existing datasets to ensure reliability.
Document your solutions clearly and help others understand and use them.
Work closely with business users across multiple regions and seniority levels - explaining complex ideas in simple terms.
Support additional project work, analyses, and data-related tasks beyond the database work - helping the team respond to new questions or insights as they arise.
What you need to have:
At least 1 year of experience working with relational databases (SQL) - not just queries, but a feel for smart structure design.
Knowledge of Power Automate - flows that make someone’s life easier.
Hands-on experience with Power BI - from connecting data to building dashboards.
A very good command of English - you will use it every day in meetings, chats, and documentation.
Strong project and time management skills.
A curious and analytical mindset - someone who connects the dots, asks “why?”, and looks for best solutions.
Experience in working in an international environment.
Important:
This is not a backend developer role or pure data engineering job. We are a business team building our own toolkit. You will be the person who connects business logic with the right data setup.
Why join our team:
We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders;
We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact for colleagues, clients, and communities;
Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being;
A yearly budget and the opportunity to build your flexible benefits package (up to 20% of your annual salary);
30+ days off (25 legal days off, 1 extra day off on your birthday, public holiday replacement days, extra buy/sell from your benefits budget);
Performance Bonus scheme;
Matching charity contributions, charity days off, and the Pay it Forward charity challenge;
Core benefits - Pension, Life and Medical Insurance, Meal Vouchers, Travel Insurance;
