Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiators. You will help ensure that today is safe, and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Database Administrator, SME, joining our team to help support a program at Scott Air Force Base in O’Fallon, IL.

The Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) program will be reengineering

business processes, performing data interface/integration services, implementing a single,

integrated system, and leveraging commercial software to conduct transportation, financial, and logistical operations for approximately 36,000 users.

GDIT is seeking a Database Administrator, SME who provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and
analysis using cloud methodologies.

HOW a Database Administrator, SME WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design.Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and must make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.Database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:Bachelors/master’s in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Required Experience:12 years of related experience in progressive enterprise engineering and management experience.

Preferred Skills:Experience designing and defining cloud system architecture for new or existing computer systems.Define Support application systems through careful review and understanding of multiple databasesEngineer data solutions to combine multiple databases into a single integrated system.Provide data engineering solutioning expertise to development team(s) supporting systems and applicationsDevelop and install data exchange / transfer solutions to ensure the secure transfer of data between systemsApply data quality control measuresReview database security measures and ensure databases meet customer standards for data securityLeverage experience in customer industry, mission, or area to provide context and help ensure elaboration of problems occurEnsure system performance through monitoring and logging of server performance, errors, and security incidentsStay up to date with emerging trends and technologiesMaintain DOD mandated certifications such as Security+ and other common computing environment requirements as provided by the customer
