This role bridges technical and business functions, translating operational knowledge into data governance standards that support strategic objectives. The steward ensures data is accurate, timely, and fit for purpose by defining data quality rules, validating data processes, and implementing resolution protocols. They also support the organization in better understanding the value and risk associated with data assets. The nature of projects and solutions ranges from foundational data products to use case specific solutions including the enterprise implementation of the definition of the gold record standard for Supply Chain master data including capital assets, medical supply items, supply vendors, and transactional data in support of the entire procure-to-pay lifecycle. Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required to ensure the gold record is robust enough to support future analytics needs. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring data received from external vendors and applications is structured and aligned to HCA standards. The type of data this role will be working also includes specific attributes around medical equipment repair, medical equipment billing, service cost relative to contract structure, and utilization where applicable. **What you will do in this role:** + Define and maintain business rules and data quality requirements for critical data elements within the domain. + Help assess and articulate the business impact, risk, and value of data assets to drive prioritization and stewardship activities. + Partner with data producers to understand their daily operations and how data is created, transformed, and used. + Collaborate with Data Governance and Engineering teams to validate and QA data quality rules and metrics. + Investigate and determine appropriate resolution paths for data quality issues, facilitating root cause analysis and preventive action plans. + Support implementation and ongoing monitoring of data issue resolutions to ensure long-term data integrity. + Create metadata documentation for assigned data domains to support discoverability and reuse. + Advocate for data literacy by contextualizing data definitions, usage, and quality expectations within the business domain. + Champion the responsible use of data by clarifying appropriate data access, handling practices, and interpretation guidelines. + Provide input into self-service data tooling (e.g., data catalog, business glossaries) to ensure domain-specific accuracy and usability. + Collaborate with training and analytics teams to educate stakeholders on proper use of domain data and quality benchmarks. + Act as the central liaison between business stakeholders, IT, data governance, and analytics teams for domain-specific data issues. + Represent domain needs in enterprise data governance forums and working groups. + Foster collaborative relationships with upstream data producers and downstream consumers to improve end-to-end data stewardship. + Support cross-functional initiatives by contributing domain-specific data insights and ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards. + Drive accountability by transparently sharing data quality findings, trends, and remediation progress with key stakeholders. **Requirements:** Education & Experience + Bachelor's degree Information Systems, Business Administration, or similar -required. + Master's degree Information Systems, Business Administration – preferred. + 1+ year(s) of experience in a combination of data management and data analysis roles – or- equivalent combination of education and/or experience – required.
