**DESCRIPTION**
The Data Specialist supports operations and conducts data analytics projects to provide information and insights to stakeholders for decision-making or solution development. This role implements data standards and deploys automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform data into usable metrics.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Support operations and conduct data analytics projects.
+ Implement data standards and deploy automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data.
+ Construct data sets, monitor data quality, troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
+ Utilize scripting and querying tools like Python, R or SQL, data visualization/BI tools, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and requirements.
+ Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Qualifications-Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, a quantitative field or equivalent.
+ 0-2 years of related experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
**Minimum Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of data analytics and processes.
+ Ability to work on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
+ Ability to make day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.
+ Some authority for personnel actions.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
**Work Environment and Physical Requirements**
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment weighing less than 15 pounds. This position involves viewing a computer monitor for more than 30% of the time.
