Job Description:
Data Services & Storage Presales Intern
Start Date: 1st July 2026
Location: Manchester or Winnersh (location TBD)
Data Services & Storage is a business unit within HPE, delivering unified, AI-driven cloud native solutions for data management, protection, and storage—enabling seamless hybrid cloud operations for our customers.
Our field-based presales team work closely with sales colleagues and customers alike, to provide deep technical expertise and industry knowledge throughout the sales process, aligning business outcomes to compelling solution proposals.
How Will You Make Your Mark:
You will play a key part in assisting our sales & presales colleagues in managing their sales opportunities
You will learn about HPE, the company strategy, organisational structure, business and sales/presales governance, processes, and tools
You will have the chance to look into and shadow presales contributions to the sales cycles of a world-renowned tech company
You will take on reporting responsibilities, providing updates on sales/presales activity within the team
You will lead internal written communications for the Presales leadership team and drive engagement through channels such as Slack
You will have opportunities to get involved in a variety of projects across the department e.g. managing corporate hospitality activities for our customers, partners and distributers, supporting with live sales opportunities, and many more
You will be continually supported in developing your skills and expertise with the support of a designated mentor and our Early Careers development programme.
When you join you will receive a 4 week ‘hand over’ period from the current intern in the position to help you establish yourself in this role.
You be working closely alongside the other Sales & Presales Support Interns who are also based in Manchester.
If you are…
Potential interns must be in their 2nd year of a four-year degree which requires (or has an option for) 3rd year to be a one year's industrial placement, and are expected to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 grade
You must be eligible to work in the UK and be available to commence the placement at the beginning of July 2025 for 13 months.
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program
Keen to develop your skills and interested in building a career in technology business operations or sales.
A strong communicator, both written and verbal
Organised and able to effectively manage your time
Experienced with Microsoft Office and database management. Excel and PowerPoint especially would be beneficial.
Fluent in English
