LabCorp is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in Durham, NC, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule!

Work Schedule:  Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, additional days and hours as needed.

To support the development of innovative AI/ML solutions that drive business value across multiple departments at LabCorp. The Data Scientist contributes to exploratory data analysis, helps develop and implement machine learning models, and works with team members to deliver data-driven solutions. This role requires technical proficiency and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesContribute to data science projects throughout the development lifecycleImplement and validate machine learning models that solve business problemsAnalyze datasets to identify patterns and insightsAssist in translating technical concepts for presentation to stakeholdersApply appropriate machine learning techniques to address business needsCreate effective data visualizations to communicate findingsStay current with advancements in AI/MLCollaborate with other team members on solution developmentPhysical Demands and Environmental ConditionsRegularly works with a computer for approximately 6-8 hours a dayMust be able to read and understand scientific and complex directionsMinimum Education & Previous Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant data science experience, or Master's degree with 0-1 years of experience2+ years of experience with Python programmingExperience contributing to data science or analytics projectsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWorking knowledge of machine learning techniques including classification, regression, and basic deep learning approachesSolid understanding of statistical analysis and data preprocessing methodsAbility to work with structured data and common data formatsProblem-solving abilities and willingness to learnGood communication skills to collaborate effectively with team membersAttention to detail and commitment to data qualityAbility to follow best practices in model development and implementationTechnologies and ToolsRequired: Python, SQL, basic data visualization skillsDesirable: Familiarity with AWS servicesRelevant Packages: Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, basic knowledge of TensorFlow/PyTorch, Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly
