This is a Salaried position. Overview This position may offer full remote. If the incumbent lives within 60 miles of the office, they will need to be in the office 3 days per week. Tuesday and Thursday are mandatory in-office days. Please note: H-1B sponsorship is not offered for this opening(s). POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Scientist I applies foundational knowledge in machine learning, artificial intelligence, simulation, optimization, data engineering, and statistical modeling to create, examine, explain, implement, and report on data science solutions. The position handles large, complicated datasets to process and convert data into useful insights. The Data Scientist I is an important part of the team, supporting the strategic goals of OSF Healthcare. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline or Master’s Degree in quantitative discipline and 2 years of experience applying advanced analytical methods to large complex datasets using python, or other similar programming language. Experience: 6 years of experience applying advanced analytical methods to large complex datasets using python, or other similar programming language. Internships and relevant coursework will be considered. Licensure/ Certification: Epic Clarity data model fundamentals training and certification is required within 6 months of employment. Certification must be maintained as new versions of training are released. Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year of healthcare related analytics experience. 1 year of experience working within the EPIC data ecosystem. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
