Job Overview
The role focuses on advanced data analysis and data engineering in healthcare environments, working with large-scale, complex patient-level databases. The professional will contribute primarily to statistical analyses, data handling, ingestion, and transformation of real-world health data, supporting applied research and evidence generation.
Essential Functions
Perform statistical analyses on large, longitudinal, patient-level healthcare datasets (claims, EHR, registries, secondary data).
Design and implement data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and validation pipelines for complex health databases.
Work with big databases in healthcare, ensuring data quality, traceability, and reproducibility of analyses.
Support the development of analytical models, including descriptive, inferential, and predictive approaches, with machine learning used when relevant.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (data scientists, epidemiologists, clinicians, medical and business stakeholders).
Translate complex analytical results into clear insights and narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
Contribute to study design, analysis plans, reports, scientific manuscripts, and internal documentation.
Ensure compliance with data privacy, governance, and ethical standards in healthcare data usage.
Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related fields.
Masters degree or PhD is a plus, but not mandatory.
Strong experience with statistical analysis applied to healthcare or life sciences data.
Solid background in healthcare data environments, including real-world data, patient-level and longitudinal datasets.
Experience with data handling, ingestion, and processing of large and complex databases.
Proficiency in Python or R (one is sufficient).
Familiarity with machine learning methods is desirable.
Knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics.
Proven experience delivering end-to-end analytical projects, including: Understanding research or business questions, Designing analysis strategies , Interpreting and communicating results
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Excellent written communication, especially for reports, analysis plans, and scientific documents.
Reading proficiency in English is required.
Willingness and motivation to develop spoken English is mandatory if not already fluent.
