**About the role:**
The Data Scientist, Associate Scientist is responsible for performing complex data research and analysis to support business operations. This role involves creating data mining architectures, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. By applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, this role informs business decisions and contributes to Takeda's mission.
**How you will contribute:**
+ Design and develop scalable Machine Learning models and data pipelines.
+ Conduct statistical analysis, data exploration, and work with large datasets.
+ Deploy solutions to AWS, including EC2, S3 buckets, containerized environments, and orchestration using Kubernetes/K8s clusters.
+ Build data mining architectures, analytical methodologies, and frameworks to identify patterns and trends.
+ Work independently with minimal supervision while managing technical tasks and project components.
+ Provide technical support and informal guidance to mid-level colleagues (no junior team members in Mexico).
+ Help foster technical community building and networking across teams and regions.
+ Occasionally lead small project groups or initiatives.
+ Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders to support data-driven decision making.
**Skills and qualifications:**
+ 3–4 years of experience in Data Science or a related role.
+ Strong expertise in Python (main programming language).
+ Experience building and deploying Machine Learning models.
+ Mandatory experience with AWS (EC2, S3, cloud deployments, containerization, etc.).
+ Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data science methodologies.
+ Practical experience with SQL for querying and data manipulation.
+ Experience generating data visualizations.
+ Familiarity with distributed data processing tools (Spark is a plus).
**Nice-to-Have**
+ Knowledge of Java and/or R for occasional tasks (not core to the role).
+ Basic experience with TensorFlow or other ML frameworks.
+ Exposure to Kubernetes for deploying models or services.
+ Experience with NLP or more advanced predictive modeling.
+ Experience contributing to technical communities or cross‑country collaboration.
