The Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI) Internship Program is designed to provide an on-the-job learning opportunity aimed at gaining \"real world\" work experience in a large healthcare environment, supporting leadership with data driven insights that deliver value to those we serve. Ascension’s objective is to provide a working and learning environment where interns can develop the skills and competencies necessary to grow into successful professionals and potential Ascension associates.
This is a great opportunity to learn from and work with our Data Science team within ADSI! We are looking for someone who can work with a team and also independently on projects.
Design and construct new prototypes using algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis.
Work with department leaders and team mentors to develop project plans and timelines. Gain experience manipulating and validating data from multiple sources.Analyze data bringing your own curiosity and expertise to meet project objectives and deliver additional insights.Present final project to team members, data science leadership and potentially clinical stakeholders.Gain hands-on experience working in Google Cloud Platform, Python or other preferred analytic tool.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.Additional Preferences Strong technical skills, specifically in writing queries, manipulating data and visualizing data.Demonstrated ability to find patterns and provide insights in underlying data.Deals well with ambiguity and “start-up” environments.Excellent communication skills.Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and database languages (e.g., SQL).
